i am a sucker for a good love song. a sucker for a song that makes me clap my hands and doo doo doo. a sucker for a song that makes me move my body to an art that one would call dancing. one of my favorite bands is The Format who unfortunately broke up a few years ago. Their song “Janet” is one of my favorite songs in the world…with one of my favorite lines being..

“I’m falling in love with you…balloons or no balloons…so its time i forget the past and just learn to love what i have..cause i love waking up to your laugh”

The lead singer Nate Ruess, formed a band with some of my other favorite artists from bands such as Steel Train and Anathallo, called Fun. I was skeptical when I first heard there was this new band out, I mean how could anything top The Format!!?? Well… this band comes pretty darn close to being as amazing and their name totally lives up to their vibe. You know that song that comes on the stereo just when you are getting ready to arrive at your destination and the song alone makes you stay in your car to finish it…and then listen to it again? My favorite song from the Fun. album is called The Gambler and it does just that. This is a song that Nate wrote about his parents…I love the perspective of the song..the back and forthness between characters. It’s an intimate, personal song that describes his parents relationship and family and I know his parents must feel like the luckiest people in the world to receive this gift…they pretty much are.

I am obsessssssed with greeting cards…making them, buying them, sending them, receiving them…I just love how simple it is to show how much you care for someone in a folded small piece of paper that is placed in
an envelope. For some silly reason..Scott and I have never made holiday cards!!! The idea just escaped us and of course came to us at the very last minute this year. But trust me ….YOU would be getting one if we had done them and expect an awesome one next year!

I feel so honored to be working with Jen and Toffy during this exciting time. Their love for one another is so gentle and they really do hang on each others words. My mind races everywhere..it is hard for me to keep my attention on one thing but with Jen and Toffy they are so patient and so observant that you just know you are being listened to. I will be joining Jen and Toffy in Mammoth Lakes in a little less than a year for their wedding. Just hearing a few wedding details and seeing their very organized wedding book I know that this is going to be the wedding of the year for 2010. their friends and family joining them on this breathtaking mountain, followed by going out of their way to make this the best weekend of everyone who is attendings life and topping it off with the love between these two alone.

Scott joined us on this fun session and did what he does best. The following result is his work.

We met in Santa Clarita, California. This town reminded me of a town that used to be so western and now all of the cowboys have grown and started families. I picture tumbleweed flying around and gun matches in the street. We unfortunately didn’t see anything like that but had fun exploring downtown.

You know that guy Scott I am always talking about? Yaaa…he’s my amazing husband. He cooks for me, cleans for me, and takes Rilo out when its really early and really late. He plays guitar, drums, paints, modpodges, longboards, snowboards…he basically does it all. He is also a rad film maker! I actually met him while he was going to film school in Florida. =)

We have a new project. It is called Float Away Productions. We are so excited about it and have been waiting to show you some results. We are still very new at this side of the business and are learning through every step. Float Away offers cinematography for every moment of your life. Weddings, events, family movies, maternity/newborn movies, behind the scenes works, promotional videos, etc. It offers that lifestyle touch to your memories that you would love to play back over and over again.

Scott came behind the scenes with me on Pebalunasphotoshoot. Here is the end result:
